Stephen Galilee was appointed CEO of the NSW Minerals Council in January 2012 and is a strong advocate for the mining industry and the mining communities of NSW.
Prior to joining the NSW Minerals Council, Stephen worked in senior roles in politics and government, including as an adviser to former Prime Minister John Howard and as Chief of Staff to Mike Baird when NSW Treasurer.
Stephen also has experience in small business, family business, and as a consultant advising major corporations in construction, engineering and infrastructure.
Stephen has an Honours degree in Economics from Sydney University and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is currently Chair of the Coal Services Health and Safety Research Trust, an Alternate Director for mining industry superannuation fund Mine Super, and serves on the NSW Government’s 'Resources for Regions' Advisory Committee.
